Timberwood Church and Missions Around the Globe

Outside our walls

Timberwood Missions

God is working outside our walls.

Supporting the work of God around the world is an important focus of Timberwood Church. Timberwood partners with individuals and organizations locally, regionally, nationally and globally. Areas of focus have been church planting and the Muslim world. Timberwood commits at least 10% of its annual budget to this work. Currently, Timberwood supports 13 different missionaries and mission organizations around the world.

Global Missions

Timberwood partners with seven missionary organizations outside of the United States, including Southeast Asia, Nigeria, Lebanon, the Mediterranean, Poland and Mexico. We astounded with the movement of God in some of the harshest areas of the world. We continue to pray for the safety our our teams and are hopeful that we can continue to support their important work for years to come.

Local Mission: Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen

Timberwood Church is partnered with Sharing Bread Soup Kitchen in Brainerd. We have the opportunity to bless our community by serving a meal on the 2nd Sunday of every month. The Sunday meals are served 1-1:30pm, doors open at 12:30pm. The meal is prepped ahead in the Timberwood kitchen for ease and the minimum number of servers needed is 4, however the more people participating the greater the opportunity to engage and visit with guests.

You will be contacted by a Timberwood volunteer the week prior to your serving date. You will be provided details for the day of service and a copy of the Volunteer Release Form. In the meantime, if you have questions about serving you can direct them to Kathy at: oland68@msn.com

Local Mission: The Bridge on 7th

The Bridge on 7th is a low barrier warming shelter providing a safe place to sleep for individuals 18+ who are experiencing homelessness in the Brainerd Lakes Area. The shelter is run by Bridges of Hope and is located in Brainerd. Timberwood partners with the shelter to provide volunteers during certain weeks of the year. Youth Mission Trips

Timberwood currently supports three youth mission trips each year. The first two missions, Mink Lake and Rock Ridge camps, allow us the privilege of getting each camp ready for the ministry that it runs during the summer. We also spend time in community with one another and exploring life as servant of Christ. These missions are open to 6th-12th grade students.

The Detroit mission trip is our third youth opportunity. This mission is open to 9th-12th grade students. Every June, a team heads to Detroit to partner with an organization called Detroit Love to offer a week-long Vacation Bible School for the local residents of Detroit. In addition to VBS each day, team members have an opportunity to worship, prayer-walk in the community, and offer support to Detroit residents.
